The CranioSacral System. Another way of looking at it……

What the heck is Fritz talking about, he keeps going on about having a CranioSacral Therapy (CST) treatment with him and despite trying to explain what it is, what happens, how I will feel and what benefits it will bring, I’m still struggling to understand what it is.
Here is another way to explain it. The body wide connective tissue called Fascia, which Yvonne is always talking and teaching about, has its deepest layer within our spinal column; it’s called the Dura Mater. This tough membrane encloses the brain, spinal cord, some nerve trunks, veins and arteries. Within this membrane there is cerebrospinal fluid which is produced from blood and eventually returns there to be cleansed and then sent back into the CranioSacral System. This fluid nourishes the brain and helps protect vital parts of our body; the brain and the spinal cord. This movement is done in pulses like breathing and the heart beat.
Just like our lungs and heart need to beat at a constant, strong and even rhythm, so too does our spinal fluid. CranioSacral Therapy is used to help the body let go of any areas that are preventing the regular pulse from occurring. These areas are restrictions in the tissues that stop a natural, healthy rhythm or pulse. Where do these restrictions come from? Life. We experience bangs, falls, knocks and perhaps surgery that can tighten this tissue but we can also acquire these restrictions from emotional events which we have all experienced, from deaths to family tensions and to the wonderful, unpredictable thing that is called life.
Who experiences these tensions? Everyone; the developing foetus, the new born, the very young, teenagers, a potentially traumatic time as the young become the next adults, older people right up to the end of our time on this planet. By helping the body to release restrictions using skilful listening hands, a greater sense of calmness and balance can be achieved. So whatever age you or your children are, you can all benefit from a treatment.
Rather than scroll through feeds on social media, call me. Talk to a real person. Get a sense of the therapist. Book in and experience for yourself the wonderful benefits that CranioSacral Therapy can bring.
Fritz trained for an extensive period with Upledger to qualify as a CST Therapist and has attended courses that have helped him develop and understand the skilled art of Listening Hands. He is a member of the CranioSacral Society. Call him on 07817 665662 or 015396 21303.
